Legal and Product Use Notice

This Notice highlights important legal and safety responsibilities associated with drones, cameras, recording systems, connected electronics, batteries and related products. It is general information, not legal, aviation, electrical or safety advice for a particular customer or location.

1  Customer responsibility

A product’s availability for sale does not mean every use is lawful in every state, territory, province, municipality, building or workplace. The customer must identify and follow the rules applying where a product is installed, transported and operated, including later rule changes.

2  Drones and unmanned aircraft

  • Check registration, operator or pilot certification, aircraft marking, remote identification, weight, age and knowledge-test requirements before flight.
  • Follow airspace, altitude, airport, emergency, night, people, vehicle, event, wildlife, park, critical-infrastructure and line-of-sight restrictions.
  • In the United States, consult current FAA requirements and any lawful state or local rules. In Canada, consult current Transport Canada requirements and any lawful provincial, territorial or local rules.
  • Obtain permissions required for commercial, controlled-airspace, special or advanced operations. Do not rely on product software alone to determine whether a flight is lawful.
  • Respect privacy, property and recording laws and maintain safe separation from people, animals, aircraft and hazards.

3  CCTV, cameras, microphones and recording

  • Use recording and monitoring equipment only for a lawful purpose and in a proportionate way.
  • Comply with notice, consent, audio-recording, workplace, tenancy, neighbour, public-space, biometric, facial-recognition and retention rules that apply locally.
  • Avoid recording areas where people reasonably expect privacy. Secure footage, restrict access, use strong credentials and delete data when no longer needed.
  • Do not use products to stalk, harass, discriminate, secretly intercept communications, invade privacy or facilitate unlawful activity.

4  Radio, networks, Android and connected devices

Check frequency, radio approval, mobile-network, Wi-Fi, carrier and local certification requirements. Install legitimate updates, use strong unique credentials, enable multi-factor authentication where available, and change default passwords. Third-party apps, cloud services and networks have separate terms and privacy practices.

Compatibility can depend on bands, protocols, operating-system version, region, account, subscription and network policy. Review specifications before purchase and before modifying software or firmware.

5  Batteries, chargers and electrical safety

  • Use only compatible, correctly rated chargers, cables and batteries and follow the manufacturer’s charging and storage instructions.
  • Do not use, charge, puncture, crush, open or ship a swollen, leaking, overheated or visibly damaged battery. Isolate it safely and obtain local hazardous-waste guidance.
  • Keep batteries away from heat, flame, water, conductive objects, children and pets. Do not leave charging equipment unattended where instructions advise against it.
  • Lithium batteries are subject to carrier and dangerous-goods restrictions. Obtain return instructions before shipping any battery, especially a damaged one.
  • Use qualified installation assistance where mains electricity, fixed wiring, elevated work or building modification is involved.

6  Installation and cybersecurity

Install products according to instructions, building rules and electrical codes. Use qualified professionals where required. Maintain backups, software updates, access logs and network segmentation appropriate to the risk. No connected product can be guaranteed immune from attack or service interruption.

7  Recalls and safety communications

Follow recall, firmware, repair and safety notices from us, a manufacturer or regulator. Stop using a product immediately if a notice or observed condition indicates serious risk. Keep order contact details current so important product communications can reach you.

8  No waiver of product rights

This Notice does not transfer to the customer responsibility that applicable product-safety, consumer-protection, negligence or product-liability law places on us, a manufacturer or another business. It does not excuse a defective or unsafe product.

9  Contact

For a safety concern, suspected defect, recall question or lawful-use question about product specifications, stop using the product where appropriate and email order@mediaentertainmentme.com. For legal advice about a planned use, consult a qualified professional in the relevant location.
